Synopsis
Series adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which was a box office bomb and led Lionsgate to cancel the planned sequel Double Cross. While I’ve never read any of the source material from James Patterson’s books, I had heard about Alex Cross long before this TV series was in production.
It’s definitely something I knew I’d enjoy, and I dida lot
Aldis Hodge is an underrated up-and-coming actor and he absolutely kills as Alex Cross. The series follows Cross, who is a decorated Washington homicide detective and forensic psychologist.
He studies victims to better understand who killed them
Here he tracks a serial killer with his partner, John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa) who also has ties to his past. Aside from being a detective, he is also a family man and strives to be good at both.
Cross does that
The best thing this show has going for it is that it is never boring. That is the least you want from a show, to be invested in the story and never get bored.
